DOYLE BRUNSON STORY

Playmaker Doyle Brunson, better known as "Texas Dolly", was born in 1933 and is one of the greatest poker players of all time. Bringing in his resume more than 40 years of career, the legend has been world champion of poker and has written several books about the sport. In his walk, Doyle was the lucky one to have won a prize of more than a million dollars in history. In addition, Doyle also won ten World Series of Poker bracelets and is in the list of four players who managed to win consecutively the main events of the World Series of Poker in the years 1976 and 1977.

But Doyle's journey into the sport began with gambling at illegal casinos in Fortworth. After that, the legend left for the states of Texas, Oklahoma and Louisina to increasingly venture into the sport. In this way, Doyle began to be part of big games and meet other professionals, such as Amarillo Slim and Sailor Roberts. Both of the aforementioned players would later become Doyle's poker partners, sharing the profits between them. After that, the partnership took them to Las Vegas, where the three tried to make huge fortunes from poker, but ended up losing all the money and breaking up the partnership.

In 2003, Doyle achieved his ninth WSOP win by taking another gold bracelet to his account. The following year, Doyle was present at the No Limit Texas Hold'em event, facing 2,576 opponents and standing out among the top 100, occupying the 53rd position. In the same year, in 2004, Doyle was the grand champion of the Legends of Poker World Poker Tour and won the sum of 1.1 million dollars. Back in 2005, Doyle landed his tenth WSOP gold bracelet.

Currently, data collected in 2021 say that Doyle's fortune already surpasses the 80 million dollar mark. In addition, Doyle also wrote and collaborated on the book "Superstars Poker Strategy: The World's Greatest Players Reveal their Winning Secrets" along with Daniel Negreanu and Phil Helmiuth.
