With the return date for July 8th, Major League Soccer received the news of the departure of one of the best players in the league this past Monday.

Los Angeles FC player Carlos Vela said he would not return to the league to preserve the safety of his pregnant wife and his own.

After that, Los Angeles FC's coach Bob, Bradley, said that the team will miss the player in future games even though they are already working on replacing the player.

"Certainly Carlos is an important player, but the way we train and how we prepare is to be a good team when Carlos is not on the pitch and we had some moments when I think that was the case."

"We train in different ways every day, mix teams, make sure the guys get used to playing with different people".

"We are with Carlos, it is important that he is with his family and now [comes] the challenge of returning to the field after a long break".

The coach also said that the team is taking proper care against the covid-19.
"In terms of COVID cases, it is clear that we are concerned. We are concerned with what we see happening across the country in different states and we are all paying close attention to the news that come out of Orlando out of the bubble".

"We had confidence here, although there was a big increase in cases in Los Angeles, because we continue to test negative and the guys were confident that when they arrive every day, our training facilities are a safe place."

MLS representative Don Garber also spoke about the player's decision.

"We are very, very focused on making sure that nobody is playing in this tournament that shouldnt be there. Anyone who has a special situation that requires attention is something that we work with our clubs sp taht we can ensure we can resolve problems. In the case of Carlos, we are disappointed that he is not there - he is our current MVP - but he has a wife with a pregnancy at risk and he wanted to be there in support of her and we respect that. and I wish him and his wife good health with the birth of their child".
